Over the years, the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show has grown to where it fills almost every nook and cranny of the Cook Convention Center and the adjacent Cannon Performing Arts Center in Memphis, Tenn.

That’s great for the Southern Cotton Ginners Association, the organization which sponsors the “Gin Show.” But it can make visiting the show challenging for the thousands of farmers and their families who come to see the latest in agricultural technology on display at the event.

That’s where another relatively new technology – the 2015 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show app – can help. The 2015 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show App is now available by clicking on this showcase link: MSFGS: http://showcase.genie-connect.com/midsouthfarmginshow/.

The app has proven to be extremely popular with show visitors in helping them locate products they want to see among the hundreds of offerings by exhibitors at the show, informational speakers they want to hear and special events such as the drawing the for puppies the wish to attend.

The 2015 app, which is provided by Delta Farm Press and Southeast Farm Press and Pento, Inc., parent of the Farm Press Publications, is being brought to you again by DuPont Pioneer as a service to show attendees.

“The newest feature on the app is the platform on which it’s being developed,” says Tim Price, manager of the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show executive vice president of the Southern Cotton Ginners Association.

“From this point forward, once the app is downloaded to a mobile device, it won’t have to be downloaded year-to-year, but will update automatically. We are always looking for ways to improve the app, and we think this is one feature that will definitely improve its use.

Here's what it does

The 2015 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show Mobile App can save you a lot of steps by allowing you to use your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android or other web-enabled phone to receive up-to-the-minute news alerts and breaking information from the Gin Show. Schedules of events and alerts from sponsors will also be available from the app.

The App for the 2015 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show, Feb. 27-28, will also help you:

1. Navigate the Gin Show using an interactive show floor plan.

2. Download exhibitor information.

3. Organize your schedule.

4. Stay in the know with show alerts and event schedules.

5. Read the latest information from the many MSFGS educational seminars.

6. Follow and join in on the Gin Show twitter feed at #msfgs2015.

“The new MSF&GS Mobile App was developed by Penton Marketing Services and has been used at some of the largest trade shows in the nation,” said Greg Frey, vice president at Penton Media and publisher of Farm Press. “We believe this new technology will greatly enhance participants’ experience at this year’s Farm and Gin Show.”

Besides the Delta and Southeast Farm Presses, the Agricultural Group at Penton Media publishes Southwest Farm Press and Western Farm Press.

Delta Farm Press is a cosponsor of the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show and publishes the Farm Show Magazine.

“We are keenly aware that farmers’ use of mobile technology is increasing and becoming an important part of how they do business,” Price says. “We are pleased to be able to give farmers and others attending the show a tool to enhance their experience at the show and better connect with vendors who provide the products and services they need.”
