Organic production in the desert is the theme of a daylong seminar Jan. 12, 2011 at the Quechan Casino and Resort in Winterhaven, Calif. presented by the California Certified Crop Adviser Program (CCA) and the Organic Fertilizer Association of California (OFAC).The seminar will feature speakers on organic production topics and a panel of organic growers discussing the role of crop advisers in operations. Exhibits by vendors will provide services and products to organic growers.

Organic production in the desert is the theme of a daylong seminar Jan. 12, 2011 at the Quechan Casino and Resort in Winterhaven, Calif. presented by the California Certified Crop Adviser Program (CCA) and the Organic Fertilizer Association of California (OFAC).
The seminar will feature speakers on organic production topics and a panel of organic growers discussing the role of crop advisers in operations. Exhibits by vendors will provide services and products to organic growers.
The program is aimed at organic growers, crop consultants, and organic input suppliers/retailers.
Topics will include organic regulations, pest control, humic acid use, plant disease, mycrorrhizal inoculants, biofertility, nematode control, soil testing, compost use and manure, and high nitrogen inputs.
A special feature will be a panel featuring area organic growers discussing the challenges of fertility and pest control in organic production.
CEU hours will be offered for PCAs, CCAs, and the Arizona Department of Agriculture.
