Ten scholarships were awarded to outstanding 4-H members recently at the 50th Blackland Income Growth Conference held at the Extraco Events Center inWaco.

The scholarships were presented during the conference luncheon that featured

District 22 state Sen. Brian Birdwell as the keynote speaker.

Receiving $1,000 each were: Joel Dyer, Amny Rose, Bosque County; Rhonda Grmela,

Coryell County; Will Arnold, Ellis County; James Bezdek, Hill County; Connor

Jackson, Ashley Radde, McLennan County; Trey Roach, Tarrant County; and Garrett

Hancock, and Laurel Leopold, Williamson County.

The annual conference is sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Waco Chamber of Commerce. It is held each year to provide extensive agricultural education to producers in the Blacklands region of Texas.
