The 2010 annual Arkansas Crop Protection Association (ACPA) Research Conference will be held at the Clarion Inn in Fayetteville, Ark. The conference is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 29, and end at noon on Nov. 30.

“This is an annual conference that features a lot of graduate student presentations on current research projects,” says Bob Scott, Arkansas Extension weed specialist. “There will be updates from specialists and verification coordinators, as well.”

This year, “much of the meeting’s focus will be on herbicide-resistant weeds, including several papers on glyphosate-resistant pigweed and ryegrass.  There will also be a good number of entomology papers, these will focus on insect control in cotton, soybean and rice.  We have a good line-up of presentations.”

Scott says the conference is “a great opportunity for everyone to get together in the fall and discuss what’s happened during the last growing season and see how research is going. Many industry and university folks attend.”
