AgCareers.com at World Ag Expo

AgCareers.com has teamed up with World Ag Expo to open the new Hilvers Agricultural Career and Education Center at World Ag Expo Feb. 9-11 in Tulare, Calif. The new center will assist people in finding jobs in agriculture.

“AgCareers.com is excited to be partnering with the World Ag Expo on this new initiative that will bring employers and job seekers together in a new way at a great venue, the World Ag Expo,” explains Erika Brandt, AgCareers.com. “As we continue our mission to promote the many great opportunities in agriculture, the Career Center at World Ag Expo is an excellent way to do just that!”

AgCareers.com supplies human resource services to the agriculture, food, natural resources and biotechnology industries. “Our Company strives to improve the industries by connecting job seekers and employers with a targeted, online tool that is economical and produces results. With presence in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, AgCareers.com has more than 1.3 million page views each month,” says Brandt. “Employers post more than 2,000 jobs and receive more than 6,000 applications through the site monthly.”

Located in the Hilvers building on Media St., the Hilvers Career and Education Center presented by AgCareers.com is not exclusively for job seekers, but students as well. The Center will house information booths for several community colleges and universities, including College of the Sequoias, University of California, Davis, California State University, Fresno, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona.

Brandt explains that “The center will be a common place for universities to showcase their school. This will include hands-on workshops, interview space for employers, and an area for featuring or applying to current job postings.”

An estimated 100,000 attendees from 67 countries are expected to attend the 43rd annual World Ag Expo 2010 at the International Agri-Center in Tulare. The expo is the largest annual agricultural show of its kind with 1,600 exhibitors displaying cutting-edge agricultural technology and equipment on 2.6 million square feet of show grounds.

Online attendee registration is now open at WorldAgExpo.com. Those who register online through Feb. 1, will save time at the gate, $2 off daily admission, and be automatically entered to win a Yamaha Rhino and other registration prizes. World Ag Expo tickets are $10 online if purchased before Feb. 1, or $12 at the gate.
