LoBue elected chairman of California Citrus Mutual

Philip LoBue has been elected chairman of the board of directors for California Citrus Mutual (CCM) at the directors’ October meeting.

A third generation citrus grower, LoBue is president of LoBue Brothers packing in Lindsay, Calif., and heads a large family citrus operation. Prior to joining LoBue Brothers packing in 1999, he spent 25 years as president of Valley Foods, a juice processor in Lindsay.

LoBue is a graduate of UC Davis and received his master in economics from North Carolina State University. LoBue has been a CCM director for eight years and succeeds three-term chairman Nick Hill.

Joining LoBue on the executive committee will be vice chairmen Franco Bernardi and David Roberts and secretary-treasurer Carole Alfheim.

California Citrus Mutual is an Exeter-based, non-profit trade association representing 1,400 citrus producers throughout California. The voluntary membership farms in excess of 150,000 acres producing $1 billion in citrus annually.
