Kolby and Micky Burch moved to Iowa in 2009 to find a more centralized location for raising sheep for youth shows. Like a growing number of sheep producers, they’re finding higher demand for wool and lamb is creating opportunities for a new segment of the livestock market. Micky talks about their operation during this interview following an American Sheep Industry Association-sponsored media event at their farm near Coon Rapids in western Iowa.
