Even in ranching, there’s an app for that … and that’s the topic of the May 2 natural resources webinar hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service ecosystem science and management unit.

The Ranching Apps for Tablets and Smartphones webinar is part of the Texas Range Webinar Series scheduled the first Thursday of each month from noon to 1 p.m., said Pete Flores, AgriLife Extension webinar coordinator in Corpus Christi.

Bryan Davis, AgriLife Extension agent in Wilson County, will discuss the popularity of smartphones and tablets and the number of applications available to use with them.

The webinar will cover a variety of apps, where to find them, the basics of how they work and how to apply them to current ranching activities. Davis’ emphasis will be “which ones are really helpful for ranching purposes.”

One Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit in integrated pest management will be offered during this webinar, Flores said.

Participants seeking CEUs must pay a $10 fee online. For all others, there is no fee. This webinar and others in the series can be accessed at https://naturalresourcewebinars.tamu.edu/.
