American Angus Association announces top 10 Ohio registered breeders

Ohio recorded a total of 1,253 Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal 2024.

The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in Ohio recorded a total of 1,253 Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal 2024, which ended Sept. 30, says Mark McCully, association CEO.

The 10 top recorders in Ohio are Maplecrest Farms, Hillsboro; Optum Angus LLC, Seaman; OHC Angus, South Charleston; GMC Genetics LLC, Proctorville; Markota Angus Ranch LLC, Elkton; Jerry L Bornemann, Toledo; BLLB Farm's LLC, Jackson; Raines Farms, Seaman; Burgett Angus Farm LLC, Carrollton; and Way View Cattle Co LLC, Hebron.

Angus breeders across the nation in 2024 registered 302,716 head of Angus cattle.

“Our association members lead the industry in adopting new technology and breeding the most problem-free cattle for their customers,” McCully said. “Cattlemen across the country continue to find registered Angus seedstock are the most profitable option for their herd.”
