With social distancing, land sales draw more online traffic

Online land auctions in the past 45 days have sold at or above market value, BigIron Realty reports.

Online land auctions conducted by BigIron Realty in the past 45 days have sold at or above market value. Online bidder registrations are increasing dramatically because farmers and investors are staying in their home office. Traditional auctions are being canceled or held to strict guidelines of 10 people or fewer allowed to attend.

Central Kansas

Reno and Rice counties. A total of 425.5 acres sold at online auction in five tracts for $745,902. These five tracts ranged from 72 to 120 acres of cropland located around Sterling, Kan. All have good soils typical of the area. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Northeast Nebraska

Antelope County. A total of 159.74 acres sold at online auction for $1,269,933. This farm is a pivot-irrigated quarter that sold with a nine-tower Reinke pivot and a John Deere diesel power unit with a high output well in the center of the farm. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Eastern Nebraska

Polk County. A total of 201.22 acres sold at online auction for $1,506,113. Tract 1 is 80 acres of pivot-irrigated farmland, selling with a 10-tower Reinke pivot, John Deere power unit with generator, 60-hp gearhead, pump by the reuse pit and some irrigation pipe. Tract 2 is 121.22 acres of dryland crop ground that lays flat to gently sloping. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Platte and Colfax counties. A total of 221.48 acres sold at online auction in five tracts for $945,253.50. These tracts range from 20 to 41 acres. Two tracts are dryland, and three are hay meadow or pasture ground. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Northwest Nebraska

Scotts Bluff County. A total of 195.48 acres sold at online auction in two tracts for $569,970. Tract 1 is about 157 acres of irrigated land with a six-tower Reinke pivot. Tract 2 is 38 acres of gravity-irrigated land from the Farmers Irrigation District canal system using disposable plastic pipe. — Compliments of BigIron Realty
