There was a large land auction this May in the Red River Valley. The Oberg Family Farm sold approximately 4,470 acres of farmland in Clay County, Minn., — directly across the border from Fargo, N.D. — at a public auction. 4,470 acres of Red River Valley land

Approximately 4,470 acres in Clay County, Minn., sold at a public auction in May. Prices ranged from $3,142 per acre to a high of $6,107 per acre. ‘Free and clear’ land in S.D. sells for $7,300 per acre

Approximately 120 acres of farmland in Brookings, S.D., sold for $7,300 per acre at an auction in May. It has 114 tillable acres; an average Surety AgriData productivity index of 85.7; and predominately Class I, Vienna-Brookings complex and Barnes clay loam soils.

$4,100 per acre buys land in Hutchinson and Moody counties

Approximately 145 acres in Hutchinson County, S.D., sold for $4,100 per acre in a recent auction. The property included a mix of about 113 acres of cropland and 31 acres of CRP, which generates $2,730 annual annually. The CRP contract expires in Sept. 2020.

About 80 acres in Moody County, S.D., also sold for $4,100 per acre at an auction. Williams County, N.D., land comes up 7s

Approximately 320 acres in Williams County, N.D., sold for $1,777 per acre in a sealed bid auction. The property includes cropland and about 67 acres of CRP. There are some U.S. Fish and Wildlife easements on the land. — Auction managed and conducted by Farmers National Co. farmersnational.com.

More than 500 contiguous acres in S.D.
