BigIron Realty reports online land auctions in recent weeks have met or exceeded sellers' expectations. On the seven tracts of land BigIron Realty sold in the past month in Nebraska and Kansas, there was a combined total of 232 bids from four states — with 14 states watching — and 41 different bidders.

Land that sold near Elgin, Neb., set a record-high price in a time of terrible commodity prices. Lower interest rates are a major factor holding up land prices.

Northeast

Boone County. A total of 480 acres sold for $2,300,000. This combination farm included 240 acres of pivot-irrigated cropland with a T&L and Zimmatic pivot with a 110-hp electric motor. There are 117 acres of dryland, 110 acres of hunting habitat, and 13 acres of farm site and roads. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

East

Butler County. A total of 160 acres sold at online auction for $1,408,000. This pivot-irrigated quarter lies flat to gently rolling, has good gravel road access and is only 2 miles north of Highway 92 by Rising City, Neb. The farm is irrigated with an eight-tower T&L pivot with a 75-hp electric motor. In November 2013, Grosch Irrigation installed a well liner, a new seven-stage bowl and miscellaneous parts. At that time, it was set up for 700 gallons per minute at 40 pounds per square inch. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Merrick County. A total of 75.59 acres sold at online auction for $298,580.50. This is a nice tract of all-electric, gravity-irrigated farm ground located 1 mile west of Worms Road. There are 72.34 irrigable acres on this tract, according to the Central Platte Natural Resources District. There is no irrigation pipe with this sale. There is a grain bin on the property. The farm is close to local markets and an ethanol plant. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Colfax County. A total of 73 acres sold for $518,280. This productive dryland farm lies gently sloping to rolling and has good gravel road access. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Southwest

Red Willow County. A total of 462.51 acres sold at online auction for $601,263. This well-maintained property would make a great addition to anyone’s operation. There are 333 acres of dryland crop ground that lies flat to gently sloping and 125 acres of grass. There is a submersible well and two dams on the property for water sources. It has a good gravel road for access on the west side and is only 3.5 miles south of Highway 89. — Compliments of BigIron Realty
