“Strong sale” is how Max Steffes, of the Steffes Group, West Fargo, N.D., described an online land auction the company held in March. Eleven individuals registered to bid for two quarters of cropland in LaMoure County, N.D., and 167 bids were placed. See more detail about this and other auctions:

LaMoure County, N.D.

Approximately two quarters of cropland in LaMoure County, N.D., sold in two tracts for $2,359 per cropland acre or $2,097 per deeded acre; and $3,555 per cropland acre or $2,844 per deeded acre, respectively. Lincoln County, S.D.

In late March, 80 acres in Lincoln County, S.D., sold for $6,900 per acre. A public auction was held on site, as well as online and phone bidding.

Burleigh County, N.D.

A 451-acre property that the sale bill described as a “one kind property in Emmons County, N.D.,” sold for $1,180 per acre at an auction in late March. The property is currently in grass but includes productive cropland. The Missouri River borders the property.

“The pastureland includes rolling buttes and large mature tree lines, providing excellent deer and pheasant hunting. Clay County, S.D.

A 75-acre pasture in Clay County, S.D., sold for $3,300 per acre on March 24 at an auction that offered live and phone bidding. Bidders on site stayed in their vehicles while attending the auction.

Located less than a half mile from a hard surface road, the land has a county soil rating of .446 and supports 30-40 cow-calf pairs — Auction managed and conducted by Westra Atkins Land & Auction.

Dickey County, N.D.

Approximately 156 acres in Dickey County, N.D., sold for $2,371 per acre at an auction in late February. Approximately 69 acres was being farmed. The rest was in the Conservation Reserve Program.

One CRP contract was for 35 acres with an annual payment of $3,236. A second contract was for 51 acres with an annual payment of $2,314. Both contracts expire in September 2021.

The Farm Service Agency corn base was 31 acres, with a 167 bushel per acre yield. The soybean base was 37 acres with a 39 bushel per acre yield. — Auction managed and conducted by Farmers National Co. farmersnational.com.

Potter County, S.D.

A “high-quality” quarter, according to the sale bill, near Gettysburg in Potter County, S.D., sold for $3,355 per acre at an auction in March. All but two acres is tillable.

The soil productivity index is 88.5. FSA crop bases and yields are wheat, 77.5 acres at 48 bushels per acre; corn, 38 acres at 111 bushels per acre; and sunflowers, 38 acres at 1,688 pounds per acre. Available for the 2020 crop year. — Auction managed and conducted by Farmers National Co.

Adams County, N.D.

Approximately 151 acres farmland in Adams County, N.D., sold for $750 at an auction in March. The soils have a soil productivity index of 57.3. — Auction managed and conducted by Pifer’s Auction and Realty.
