LAND SALES SCARCE: As is typical for this time of year, land sales are seeing a summer slowdown, BigIron Realty reports.

Land sales see summer slowdown

The scarcity of land for sale, along with low interest rates, is helping keep land values stable.

Land listings are few and far between this time of the year, and the scarcity of land for sale and historically low interest rates have kept land values stable. Marketing time required to sell a farm on an online auction is 45 days.

BigIron Realty of Columbus, Neb., a licensed real estate broker in eight states, compiles the reports for this column, but not all sales are handled by BigIron each month. Contact BigIron at 800-887-8625. The following are several of the most recent sales:

Northeast Nebraska

Antelope County. A total of 309.56 acres sold at online auction in two tracts for $2,221,026.64. Tract 1 is 156.41 acres of nice farmland with electric service that is irrigated by an eight-tower Reinke pivot. There are 131.9 certified irrigated acres, according to the Upper Elkhorn Natural Resources District. This farm is close to local markets and has great access. Tract 1 contains 153.15 acres of rolling farm ground, irrigated with a 10-tower Reinke pivot with 133 acres of certified irrigated cropland. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Antelope County. A total of 160.29 acres sold for $961,740. This cropland features a well-maintained, seven-tower Reinke pivot powered by a John Deere diesel unit. The farm has some new fencing and is close to local markets. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Northwest Kansas

Cheyenne and Sherman counties. A total of 619.28 acres sold at online auction in four tracts for $1,239,030. All of the tracts are highly productive dryland farms. Tract 1 is 161.28 acres. Tract 2 is 159.18 acres. Tract 3 is 148.84 acres. Tract 4 is 149.98 acres. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

Wallace County. A total of 626.1 acres sold at online auction in three tracts for $666,025. All of the tracts are dryland farms with good access. Tract 1 is 316.1 acres. Tract 2 is 154.7 acres. Tract 3 is 155.3 acres. — Compliments of BigIron Realty

South-central South Dakota

Lyman County. A total of 160 acres sold for $250,000. There are 134.25 farmable acres of the 154 that make up this quarter section. The property is in the Conservation Reserve Program and has been in natural bromegrass for the past 20 years. — Compliments of BigIron Realty
