Kinze unveils 650 Harvest Commander Grain Wagon

About two minutes flat. That's the typical unloading speed for Kinze Harvest Commander Grain Auger Wagons. And, the new “smaller” 650 edition is true to form — not just in speed, but also in its classic Kinze low-profile design.

The new Kinze 650 Harvest Commander Grain Auger Wagon holds up to 700 bushels (level-full, not heaped) and unloads in approximately two minutes and 15 seconds (300 bushels minimum).

The 650 uses no chains or sprockets and requires little daily maintenance. The dual auger unloading system features “on-demand” positive drive, using a 4-band multi-stand V-belt, to insure natural unrestricted grain flow, greater efficiency and better horsepower utilization.

The large 16 inch full-pitch vertical augers (18 inch O.C. tube) feature industrial full-tilt flighting and are easy to remove for inspection or replacement. A carrier bearing is mounted within an eight-inch diameter center tube to reduce grain restriction and wear. A spring-loaded upper bearing — pioneered by Kinze — allows top and bottom sections to easily self-align when going from fold to unload position.

An over-center mechanism locks the auger in the unloading position.

Unloading height is 12.5 feet; auger reach, up to 4 feet, 11 inches, varies with tire selection and width setting of the adjustable axle.

The vertical auger is direct-driven through a cast iron 90 degree gearbox with precision-cut gears to create a 2:1 drive reduction ratio. The input shaft of the gearbox also powers a full-length 14-inch diameter horizontal floor auger, which is easily removed for service through a plate-covered opening at the rear of the wagon.

An over-running clutch allows the auger system to freewheel, protecting the tractor and wagon against possible shock damage.

The 650 Harvest Commander comes with a choice of tires: 24.5×32 16-ply R-3 (diamond tread) or 30.5×32 16-ply tires with R-1 (traction tread) or R-3 (diamond tread). Transport width is just 11-feet, or 11.6-feet with the larger 30.5×32 tires set at the narrow setting.

Wheel spacings are adjustable.

The 650 has a very smooth, free-flow design. There are no joints or “ledges” inside the tank, and the outside joints create a drip-edge to help prevent moisture from “wicking” into the grain. Forty-degree side and rear panel slope improves grain flow.

Small, rounded wheel wells provide excellent tire-to-grain tank clearance. Durable powder-plating creates a smooth, finished appearance and superior protection.

A full safety grate covers the lower portion of the tub. A built-in “slide” tool helps facilitate clean-out using extension rods that are stored inside the frame rail.

Also available is an optional Electronic Scale Package with Digi-Star EZ 2000 (printer-ready) Indicator. Options for the scale system include a dot-matrix printer or a Data Down Loader Kit for transferring load data.
