Johnny Justiss has been named zone manager for the Northwest Plains Eradication Program based in Abilene.
Justiss was formerly the assistant zone manager and succeeds Trent Parish, who was reassigned to be the statewide quality control coordinator.
Justiss, who is from Coahoma, joined the Foundation in 1999.
He has 25 years of experience in the banking industry, specializing in agricultural lending, and he also owned a cattle feed supplement business. He said his ties to the cotton industry reach back to his boyhood in Roby, where he grew up on a cotton farm.
The Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation is a nonprofit, grower-initiated and funded organization dedicated to eliminating the cotton boll weevil from the state in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner possible.
