JOHN DEERE EXPANDS IN BRAZIL

Deere & Co. will build an $80 million tractor factory in Brazil. The plant in Montenegro also will make tractors for export to other South American countries, Europe and Asia. Deere has two other Brazilian factories, one that makes sugarcane harvesting equipment and a tractor plant that will shift to making combines and planting equipment.

More Deere news: USDA's Risk Management Agency has given approval to Westfield Insurance to provide federally reinsured crop insurance products to U.S. farmers through John Deere Risk Protection, Inc. for the spring 2005 growing season.
