ALLTHINGS IRRIGATED: Five Minnesota SWCDs are collaborating to host an irrigators’ clinic at the Minnewaska House in Glenwood. Pre-register for the event by Feb. 28.

Minnesota conservation districts host irrigators’ clinic

The March 10 event will cover topics such as soil health and regenerative agriculture.

Farmers who irrigate their crops are invited to attend an irrigators’ clinic March 10, at the Minnewaska House, 24895 Highway 28, Glenwood.

Speakers at the event include representatives from the University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Soil Rx Inc., Bonanza Valley Irrigators Association, Natural Resource Conservation Service, West Central Irrigation and local irrigators.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • “Introducing Regenerative Ag to Your Conventional Operation”
  • “The Basics of Soil Health, Irrigation and Water Quality Research in Central Minnesota”
  • “Irrigation Variable Rate Technology”

Event registration begins at 9 a.m. The program starts at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:45 p.m. Lunch is included in the registration cost.

Pre-registration is requested by sending $10 to the Pope Soil and Water Conservation District, Attention: Holly Kovarik, 1680 Franklin Street North, Glenwood, Minn., 56334 by Feb. 28.

Registration at the door is $20 and a meal is not guaranteed.
