BASF acquires ZedX’s digital farming portfolio

BASF signs agreement to acquire ZedX Inc., a leader in the development of digital agricultural intelligence.

BASF has signed an agreement to acquire ZedX Inc., a leader in the development of digital agricultural intelligence regarding agronomic weather, crop, and pest models designed to improve agricultural production.

The acquisition allows BASF to strengthen its digital farming footprint and further invest in helping growers take advantage of large data generated in farming.

A BASF press statement says growers are embracing cutting-edge technology and tools that can help them increase crop yields. ZedX’s platforms will enhance BASF’s digital services by providing growers with critical data to successfully manage their operations and make more informed decisions.

Weather conditions, soil temperature, and wind speed can influence the performance of crop protection products. Through the ZedX acquisition, BASF can better help farmers use their resources more efficiently and sustainably.
