FMC, Chr. Hansen to develop nematicides, biologicals

FMC and Chr. Hansen signed agreements that will help develop new biological products like nematicides and plant health promoters for agriculture.

FMC’s Agricultural Products Group will be working with Chr. Hansen for the development of new biological products like nematicides and plant health promoters for agriculture. The two companies recently announced their exclusive agreements.

Under the agreements, FMC will begin commercialization of Chr. Hansen’s Nemix bacillus product in Brazil and will develop new products for agriculture in the Americas. Chr. Hansen has a library of existing bacillus products for FMC to evaluate. Chr. Hansen will supply biological materials for products that FMC commercializes under the agreements. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

“The Chr. Hansen biological products are complementary to FMC’s portfolio of crop protection products and offer additional solutions to growers in FMC’s focus markets,” said Milton Steele, president, FMC Agricultural Products Group.

Chr. Hansen is a global bioscience company that develops natural ingredient solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. FMC Corporation is a diversified chemical company serving agricultural, industrial and consumer markets globally.
