Arysta LifeScience and DuPont Crop Protection will collaborate on the development of new foliar insecticides based on DuPont's market-leading product Rynaxypyr (chlorantraniliprole).

The long-term agreement allows Arysta LifeScience to combine Rynaxypyr insect control in premixes with acetamiprid which creates novel insecticidal formulations which more efficiently and conveniently address growers’ pest control needs.

Arysta says the DuPont collaboration expands their development of proprietary foliar insecticides to protect specialty crops. Premix formulations will be designed for a broader spectrum of pests than straight Rynaxypyr products.

DuPont says the collaboration with Arysta increases the company’s Rynaxypyr investment value, and more importantly will provide growers with more tools for effective insect management.

Arysta says combining Rynaxypyr with acetamiprid provides several benefits:

  • A broadened spectrum of Rynaxypyr control of sucking pests including aphids, whiteflies, some lepidoptera, and micro-lepidoptera;

  • Provides a good “fit” for row and specialty crops;

  • Offers a flexible application timing that works with IPM; and

  • Controls pests resistant to other products.
