Where are grain markets going? Learn what farmers said in the August survey from sister publication Farm Futures about the yields they expect from their 2024 crops and what they plan to plant in 2025. The Farm Futures team will then roll those plans into commodity market variables to offer their forecast for 2024-25 grain markets.
Protect legacy with grain marketing. Hear from a panel of Cargill traders and Cargill Elevate about grain markets as you head into harvest and crop year 2025. The conversation includes grain marketing during market uncertainty and the revenue side of your profitability equation, along with staying bullish during uncertainty.
Ag’s opportunities and challenges. Pinion representatives will help agribusiness owners and managers gear up for challenges ahead and capture opportunities. Get expert ag business insights on estate planning strategy, potential tax changes in 2025 and an overview of geopolitical agricultural impacts.
Federal policy for farmers. Farm Progress policy editor Josh Baethge and a panel of agriculture policy experts will discuss the farm bill and other federal legislation affecting the ag world.
Farm income chat. Watch a special live episode of the Beyond the Crops podcast as hosts Jena Ochsner and Mary Pat Sass team up with FP Next cohosts and Farm Progress editors Sarah McNaughton and Curt Arens to discuss ag input costs.
Cattle industry outlook. What’s ahead for the beef market? What’s the outlook for exports? What about input costs? Get all the answers in a Jeopardy-style conversation with industry experts Lee Schulz, a livestock ag economist at Iowa State University, and Dan Thomson, ISU professor emeritus in animal science. The two will discuss domestic and global markets.
Regenerative ag farmer panel. Industry experts and farmers will discuss the challenges and advantages of taking on regenerative agriculture. This session, sponsored by Cargill, will give insight into practices that create success for farmers.
Nebraska Farmer Hour. Special guests Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and state Department of Agriculture Director Sherry Vinton will join Curt Arens, Nebraska Farmer senior editor, to discuss the state’s policy and legislative agenda. The state FFA officer team will moderate a question-and-answer forum about the future of agriculture and how to support young producers in the industry.
Diversify beyond crops and cattle. Kate Lambert, senior vice president of marketing for FCS Financial, will offer a look at farm diversification. Drawing on her family’s row crop, livestock and agritourism operation, she will share ways farms can adapt to ensure an operation for future generations.
Farm transition conversation starters. How to navigate important conversations that keep communications moving on a professional farm will be the focus of University of Nebraska Extension educator Jessica Groskopf’s presentation. She will provide information to help farm families start succession conversations, build trust for smoother transitions and create greater workplace satisfaction.
New nitrogen reduction incentives. Get all the details about the new Nebraska Nitrogen Reduction Incentive Program, which offers financial incentives to producers and commercial entities to reduce their synthetic nitrogen applications.
