Think of it as the Shark Tank for agricultural entrepreneurs. At the sixth annual Ag Innovation Showcase in St. Louis, Missouri, start-up companies with big ideas spoke before an auditorium full of investors to get funding for their products.

Rohit Shukla, CEO, Larta Institute, is a principle organizer behind the showcase in partnership with the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and the Bio-Research and Development Growth (BRDG) Park.
Says Shulka: “This conference is focused on innovations and technologies that will drive yields, increase productivity, reduce costs, and help manage inputs. And growers are dealing with some major issues such as nitrogen management, pest management, water management and more."

Why would growers be interested? There is a fundamental reason why. The industry is changing. And you are facing major issues with nitrogen, water, pesticides and other inputs and how you  manage them to be able to maximize your profits and increase yield.

And there are a range of powerful solutions that have come out over the years to be able to make some of those things happen in the field for your benefit.

For example, Using new technology to be able to understand your field from an aerial perspective. Using data to drive where you should put what kinds of inputs. Understanding nitrogen uptake of the plants in your field and how you  judge that. These are tools that weren’t available before tor corn and soybean growers

This gallery offers you a sneak peek at a few potential tools that could be headed to your farm someday. So check out the tools featured here to get a leg-up on what's coming.
