Two new herbicides available from MANA Crop Protection offer control of broadleaf and grass weeds in corn. With these new herbicides, MANA's corn herbicide portfolio now totals 14 products.

New Ironclad, a nicosulfuron plus rimsulfuron, is a water-soluble granular formulation that is applied as a postemergence herbicide to handle actively growing grasses and broadleaf weeds, including barnyardgrass, volunteer cereals, woolly cupgrass, foxtails, johnsongrass, morning glory and some pigweeds.

“Ironclad is a very flexible herbicide, with low rates that can be applied by ground or air in a wide application window,” reports Dave Downing, senior marketing manager for MANA herbicides. “It is a good choice for either conventional corn or herbicide-tolerant corn and will take out some resistant biotypes.”

Adapt is the other new herbicide that may be used on field corn, in addition to seed corn, popcorn and some sweet corn hybrids. It has the same active ingredients as those in Accent and may be applied by ground and air.
