American Angus Association announces 10 producers who registered the most cattle of that breed in Iowa in fiscal year ending September 30.

The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of Iowa recorded a total of 1,812 Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal year 2009, which ended September 30. That's according to Bryce Schumann, CEO of the American Angus Association.

The 10 top recorders in Iowa are: Nichols Farms, Bridgewater, 270-head; Hoover Angus Farm, Ellston, 262; Jauer Angus Farm, Hinton, 226; Roger & Douglas Steele, Anita, 187; Brad Z Ranch, Guthrie Center, 178-head; Jim & Ann Werner, Diagonal, 177; Woodland Angus LLC, Mount Ayr, 142; DA-ES-RO Angus Farms, Columbus Junction, 133; C. E. Varley & Son, Stuart, 119-head; Pine View Angus, Colesburg, 118.

Angus breeders across the nation in 2009 registered 282,911 head of Angus cattle. "Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidify our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry," says Schumann. "These results underscore our members' commitment to providing genetic solutions for the beef cattle industry."
