EDUCATIONAL MEETING: The Dec. 5 hemp meeting is open to all and will be held at the Swan Club, 875 Heritage Road, De Pere, Wis.

Brown County Extension is hosting a hemp educational and networking meeting Dec. 5 in De Pere, Wis. The meeting is open to all and will be held at the Swan Club, 875 Heritage Road. Registration and networking begin at 9:30 a.m. The formal program runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ends with a social hour that will conclude at 6 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Limited seating is available. Be sure to register early, because these meetings have been well attended.

The program will include a grower panel comprised of various sized farms, as well as a postharvest panel including a CBD processor, CBD retailer and hemp consultant. Researchers will provide an update on Wisconsin hemp trials, and there will be several opportunities built into the program for networking, including registration, lunch, an afternoon break and the social hour.

Early-bird registration is $45 per person by Nov. 18, and increases to $60 per person beginning Nov. 19. Registration includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch, light social hour refreshments and a bound copy of the meeting proceedings. A voluntary internal directory will be created for those who wish to share their information, with a paper copy mailed to each participant following the meeting.

If you are a company that purchases hemp — whether as biomass, smokable flower, CBD isolate, fiber, grain or other hemp commodity — you may be eligible for a complimentary registration. The first 25 people who submit a completed buyer profile will receive one complimentary registration. Information will be printed in the proceedings that all participants will receive. This is to streamline the information-sharing process and help connect hemp growers with potential buyers for their crop.
