The soybean harvest is right on target for the four year average.

The harvest is still behind when it comes to the corn harvest but has made up time in the soybean harvest. The crop progress report shows 54% of the corn has been harvested, that’s down from the four year average of 72%. Last week, just 38% of the corn had been harvested.

Leaders in the Midwest are Illinois farmers reporting 73% of the crop complete and 80% in Missouri.

Soybean harvest

The latest crop condition report shows 83% of the soybeans have been harvested, that’s just 1% below the four year average of 84%. Last week, 70% of the crop had been harvested.

In the Midwest, nearly every state except Michigan is at or above the 80% mark. Wisconsin and Indiana both report 80% complete; Iowa farmers say 83% is finished; Ohio reports 85% and Illinois is at 86%. Michigan farmers report 74% of the soybean harvest is complete.

Corn condition

The corn condition is staying steady this week. Crop reporters say 50% of the corn crop remains in good condition; 16% in excellent and 23% fair. The condition is staying steady, it remains the same as last week.
