Greg Frey Farm Press publisher

Greg Frey has been promoted to publisher of Farm Press Publications, succeeding Mike Gonitzke, who has left the company.

Farm Press, which is owned by Primedia Publishing, publishes Delta Farm Press, Southeast Farm Press, Southwest Farm Press, and Western Farm Press, serving 130,000 key farmers and agribusiness readers in 22 Sunbelt states.

“We're pleased to have Greg as a publisher in our Agribusiness Group,” said Bob Moraczewski, group vice president. “His broad financial experience with our company will be an asset to the Farm Presses.”

Frey, based in Minneapolis, will also serve as publisher for Grounds Maintenance, the leading publication for the professional turf management sector.

Most recently, Frey has served as senior business manager, with responsibilities for Primedia's agriculture, apparel, mining, printing/packaging, and public service publications.

“I'm particularly excited about this promotion, since it's a great example of promoting an individual to publisher from a non-traditional role, finance, rather than the more traditional sales, marketing or editorial avenues,” said Senior Vice President John French. “Greg has been a great contributor to the organization, and we're confident he'll be a strong business leader in his new publisher role.”

Frey, who grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and South Carolina, earned a B.S. degree in finance and management from Penn State University. Prior to joining Primedia, he served as regional controller and plant manager for a national photofinishing company.
