Noelle Cremers, who was the California Farm Bureau Federation's point person for government policy for 15 years and also worked for the California Cattlemen's Association, has moved to the Wine Institute.

Cremers was hired March 23 as the San Francisco-based institute's director of environmental and regulatory affairs and is based in Sacramento, the wine industry organization announced Thursday.

She is replacing Adam Kotin in representing the interests of California’s wineries on environmental regulatory matters, including water quality, air quality and sustainability issues.

"She brings valuable experience working on environmental regulations to represent Wine Institute’s members before state and federal regulatory agencies," the institute's release states.

Established in 1934, Wine Institute is a public policy advocacy group of 1,000 California wineries and affiliated businesses that initiates and advocates for policies to promote the responsible production, consumption and enjoyment of wine, according to its website.

The organization also partners with Visit California to showcase California’s wine and food offerings and the state as a top travel destination.

Cremers is well known throughout agriculture for representing the interests of farmers and ranchers before the California legislature and regulatory agencies as the Farm Bureau's senior policy advisor, most recently focusing on policies related to air quality, endangered species and climate change.

Before working at CFBF, Cremers represented ranchers on water, air and wildlife issues with the CCA. She has a Master of Agriculture degree from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She was a fellow in Class 35 of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.
