Recent trips from the Northeast corner of Texas, south through the Blacklands and on into the Brazos Bottoms offered up some surprise observations.
1) A lot of crops are not as bad as folks expected them to be just a few weeks back. 2) Most areas have received at least a little rain over the past two or three weeks, and 3) no one is out of the woods yet. A lot of the Southwest remains in some stage of drought with significant portions of the region in the two worst phases—extreme and exceptional.
