Farmers and industry representatives got their first look at the new MFA Hamilton Rail Facility during an open house in June. This is the first rail facility for the company and is its largest single investment in the region.
The new shuttle-loader operation can house a 110-car train. According to company officials, railroads prefer to load grain via the shuttle method for ease of movement from origin to destination. The rail facility has direct access to the Union Pacific Railroad.
With state-of-the-art technology, the facility can move 60,000 bushels of grain per hour. Click on the photo gallery to peek above- and belowground at this new grain handling facility.
