Million-plus-bushel grain bins

THE NEW M Series line of commercial grain storage bins from Brock Grain Systems will hold more than a million bushels of grain.

The largest of the Brock line is the 156-ft.-dia. model that features a free-span roof, Smoothcorr sidewall system and a storage capacity of 1.34 million bushels of grain. The roof has a peak load of 50,000 lbs. and can handle ground snow loads of up to 50 lbs./sq. ft. A smaller, 132-ft.-dia. bin has a 700,000- to 1.18-million-bushel capacity and 40,000-lb. roof peak load.

The Brock Smoothcorr sidewalls feature a smooth interior with a corrugated exterior. The company achieved this by bolting a smooth-wall body sheet to the inside of the sidewall. The free-span roof does not require a center support tower.

The bins also feature Brock's Full Sweep bin anchoring system that enables the use of a single-pass bin sweep that moves grain safely out of the bin without the use of a front-end loader.

The tops of the M series bins have Brock's standard 12-ft.-dia. flat-top roof work platform, which is surrounded by a 42-in.-tall guard rail.
