February 7 is deadline for Conservation Stewardship Program applications

Producers interested in participating in Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) should submit applications to NRCS through Feb. 7, 2014.

The program emphasizes conservation performance — producers earn higher payments for higher performance.

Producers interested in participating in Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) should submit applications to NRCS through Feb. 7, 2014.

“CSP offers payments to producers who maintain a high level of conservation on their land and agree to adopt higher levels of stewardship,” said Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State Conservationist Salvador Salinas. “It’s about conservation activities on the entire operation focusing on multiple resource concerns.”

CSP is now in its fifth year and so far, NRCS has partnered with producers nationwide to enroll more than 59 million acres across the nation.
