2008 SURE sign-up begins

Sign-up for the 2008 Supplemental Revenue Assistance Program (SURE) is underway. In preparation, USDA Farm Service Agency officials are encouraging growers to contact their local FSA office to set up a time for their sign-up appointment.

FSA officials are also encouraging growers to contact the county FSA offices in each county in which they operate and request a review copy of the FSA interim report on their operation that will be used to complete most of the 2008 SURE application.

By reviewing the information contained in the interim report for correctness prior to their appointment, growers will be able to identify possible mistakes or inconsistencies in the information that might delay their application.

Multi-county producers are also encouraged to communicate if they want to conduct their SURE sign-up in a single office visit so that relevant information from other counties can be gathered in the appropriate county office prior to their sign-up appointment.

As it stands there is no deadline for completing the 2008 SURE enrollment process.
