Versatile to offer special edition tractor

It was 50 years ago that the company started making the first mass-produced articulated four-wheel drive tractor on the market. Now it's time to celebrate with a special edition machine.

How do you celebrate a birthday? When you're turning 50 often someone brings along black balloons and a lot of old-guy humor. Not so at Versatile where 2016 will mark the 50th anniversary for the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada based firm. The company can claim to be the first to mass produce articulated four-wheel drive machines, and many events in 2016 are planned.

But first out of the chute is a limited edition machine - the Versatile Legendary Limited Edition that has a familiar coat of colors. The machine gets the familiar red and yellow paint, special decals and will pay tribute to the 50 years of continuous four-wheel drive tractor production. The special machine is available in articulated four-wheel drive and DeltaTrack versions, but only a limited number will be made available for purchase in January for delivery during summer 2016.

These special tractors will also feature a special serial number, plaque with the buyer's name and includes a trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba for a special VIP event at the factory in July.

You can see the special edition tractors during the big winter farm shows including:

- Crop Production Show (Saskatoon, SK) - January 11-14

- Manitoba Ag Days (Brandon, MB) - January 19-21

- World Ag Expo (Tulare, CA) - February 9-11

- National Farm Machinery Show (Louisville, KY) - February 10-13

- Commodity Classic (New Orleans, LA) - May 3-5
