S&W Seed Company announced April 3 its new alfalfa seed variety SW9215RRS, a high-yielding, salt-tolerant, non-dormant variety offered with Genuity Roundup Ready technology.

SW9215RRS is highly suited to production in California’s southern San Joaquin Valley (SJV), plus in non-dormant growing areas from southern Arizona through south Texas.

S&W says SW9215RRS allows alfalfa farmers to grow a highly productive alfalfa variety in challenging soils under salt and water constraints - now with the added ability to apply Roundup and other labeled herbicides containing glyphosate - for expected convenient and efficient weed control.

According to S&W, the commercial introduction of S&W’s highest salt tolerant alfalfa seed variety with Roundup Ready technology is a milestone for the company.

Founded in 1980, S&W Seed Company is a global agricultural company headquartered in the California’s SJV.
