Forage Genetics International, LLC, and Alforex Seeds, LLC, have resolved their dispute concerning the advertising of certain varieties of alfalfa seeds.

Forage Genetics International filed suit against Alforex Seeds alleging that Alforex had made false and misleading claims in its advertising and promotional materials, specifically that Alforex promoted its Hi-Gest alfalfa as a low-lignin variety that is comparable to FGI’s HarvXtra varieties containing the reduced-lignin trait.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. 

However, with the resolution Alforex, Dairyland Seed and Mycogen will not only continue to sell Hi-Gest alfalfa varieties, they will also add alfalfa varieties that contain FGI’s HarvXtra and Roundup Ready traits to their product offerings. FGI says this will broaden grower access to HarvXtra and Roundup Ready alfalfa technology.
