As a college student, one of the best things I did was attend the Cattle Industry Convention. At the time, I was a National Beef Ambassador, and I was given the opportunity to attend the event with my fellow ambassadors.

Looking back, having the chance to listen to speakers, learn about the Beef Checkoff, walk through the trade show and visit with beef producers from across the country was such a valuable learning experience.

Whenever young people ask me for advice about how to build their network and get established in the beef cattle industry, I always encourage them to invest some time and money to travel to this event.

This year, Culver’s is giving 250 FFA students the opportunity to attend the convention and trade show for free! If you’re a young person or know of an FFA member who would benefit from this opportunity, please pass along these important details.

Culver’s restaurant chain recently announced the company will be covering the registration fees of the first 250 FFA members and advisors for FFA Day at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show on Friday, Feb. 1, in New Orleans, La.

The FFA Day at convention is made possible through Culver’s Thank You Farmers project.

To receive free registration, FFA members and advisors simply need to visit convention.beefusa.org and register to attend the trade show using the promotion code “FFACULVERS.”

“These FFA members will someday be responsible for feeding our country, so it’s important that they have opportunities to learn from current agricultural professionals,” said Jessie Kreke, senior marketing manager at Culver’s, in a press release. “We are proud to help these passionate students learn more about an industry they’re interested in joining.”

Culver’s has long been a supporter of America’s agriculturalists. The company’s Thank You Farmers project celebrates food producers who supply the ingredients for the retailer’s signature Butter Burgers and Frozen Custard.

Additionally, Culver’s is a big believer in agricultural education programs that encourage youth to pursue careers in agriculture and enhance learning opportunities for these young people. To date, Culver’s has raised over $2 million to support the National FFA Organization and Foundation, local FFA chapters and a variety of agricultural education programs.

Don’t miss this opportunity to attend the 2019 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in the Big Easy! It would be wonderful to see a flood of blue corduroy FFA jackets in New Orleans. Thank you to Culver’s for giving these young people the chance to learn from the beef cattle industry’s best and brightest.

And if you’re one of the lucky FFA members who gets to attend, be sure to swing by the BEEF booth at the trade show to visit with our publication’s editors and contributors.
