Soil fertility management tips

This week I attended a nutrient management summit put on by West Central. It was a lot of information to take in, but the best parts went out via our Twitter account. Here are some tips, ideas and general nutrient management practices from experts across the nutrient industry, from organizations to chemical companies to Extension experts.

Overall, the experts talked about the value of knowing what's in your soil in order to get the most out of your crop yields, but wondered if the current soil tests really fit with the current crop hybrids and varieties. Management practices will and are changing, and principles of the 4R concept are playing a big part. Don't let your corn crop go hungry!

Nutrient and soil fertility management have the ability to add bushels to your corn crop, so it is recommended that farmers watch them carefully and apply what's need when it's needed at the right amount needed.
