Whether you depend on your ATV to deliver a hard day's work or simply work your ATV hard over backwoods trails, the model year 2006 John Deere Buck ATVs are designed to deliver the performance you need and the experience you want.

Emphasizing versatility, powerful performance and ease of use, the lineup consists of five models. Four of the machines feature continuously variable transmissions, while one comes equipped with a 5-speed gear-on-gear transmission.

The models for 2006:

  • Buck 500 (gear-on-gear transmission).

  • Buck 500 Auto.

  • Buck 650 Auto.

  • Buck 650 EX Auto (available in traditional John Deere green and yellow as well as olive drab).

  • Buck 650 EXT Auto.

“Our John Deere Buck ATVs are engineered and built to be serious work vehicles. They excel at tasks around large properties and job sites, but they're also equally capable of superior trail riding for those customers who like to use their ATVs for activities like hunting or fishing,” says Jon Chase, John Deere ATV group product manager.

The Buck 500 features a 498 cc in-line Rotax engine, gear-on-gear transmission, step-through design, double A-Arm front suspension and rigid swing-arm rear suspension.

The Buck Auto Models come with either a 498 cc or a 644 cc 4-Tec Rotax engine, continuously variable transmission (CVT), semi-step-through design, and the same double A-Arm front and rigid swing-arm rear suspensions.

In addition, the Buck 650 EX Auto comes standard with radial tires for a more aggressive look and improved handling. This machine also features a 2,500-pound Warn winch with roller fairlead, front mud flap extensions, rear rack full extensions, heavy-duty rear bumper and front brush guards, and integrated hand guards.

A few key features that set the John Deere Buck ATVs apart from their competition include:

  • Progressively locking 4WD Visco-lok system that automatically delivers the correct amount of traction for every situation without compromising steering or maneuverability.

  • Rear radiator that diffuses heat away from the operator — especially in challenging work environments — and reduces risk of impaction from mud or debris on the trail.

  • Easy maintenance — just remove the seat for easy access to spark plugs, battery, air filter, oil filter, fuses, dipstick, radiator fluid and carburetor.

  • A water-tight 8-gallon front storage area ideal for storing many types of cargo.

John Deere also offers a complete line of attachments and accessories to customize your Buck ATV to your specific needs
