Whether used for drilling holes to construct a pole barn, mixing and dispensing animal feed on a cattle ranch or clearing brush, agricultural attachments are among the most important and versatile tools used in agriculture.

Glenn Danuser, co-owner of Danuser, a fourth-generation, family-owned manufacturer of agricultural and industrial attachments, says the company has experienced a significant increase in demand for these tools. The reason is simple – they make daunting tasks easier and more cost-efficient.

“With modern attachments, you can get more accomplished, more safely, while also saving money,” he says. “For many farmers and ranchers, it can be a daily challenge to get everything done. They’re looking for automation to help complete a difficult job more quickly so they can move on to the next one.”

Danuser says top agricultural attachments include material handling buckets for hauling and dispensing loads of various materials, tree and post pullers for land clearing, post drivers for installing fencing, auger systems for drilling or digging, and pallet forks and multipurpose grapples for moving and stacking heavy items, such as hay bales or seed bags.

So, how can a farmer or rancher determine if their operation could benefit by using attachments, and if so, which ones?  “Consider the physically demanding and time-consuming tasks you now handle on your operation,” Danuser says. “Work with your agricultural implement dealer to determine which attachments offer the most return on investment in terms of getting those jobs done more easily and making you more productive.”

Danuser attachments are designed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters plant in Fulton, Missouri. Some of its leading products include:

  • The Intimidator, a land-clearing, obstacle-removing attachment for skid-steers or tractors. Synchronized jaws quickly eliminate trees, shrubs, bushes, stumps, posts and other obstructions. It offers lower operating costs than a bulldozer and less work than a chainsaw.

  • The Mega Mixer material handling bucket, designed to mix, scoop and dispense a wide variety of agricultural materials, including gravel, feed, grains, dry topsoil and dry compost. Mounts on both sides allow the operator to dispense on either the right or left side of the host vehicle to better meet each project’s specific needs.

  • The EP Auger System, featuring a high-strength planetary gear drive with greater torque for drilling through hard, compacted surfaces. The unit swings from a knuckle to allow left to right and forward to back leveling. Easily accessible check and fill plugs support quick and easy maintenance.

  • The Hammer Post Driver series, which drives fence posts, sign posts, T-posts and fence pipe, among other uses, with ease. It’s a one-person post driver, providing 82,000 pounds of impact force and 35 strokes per minute.
