The 67^th annual Mid-South Farm & Gin Show is set for March 1-2, 2019, at the Cook Convention Center in downtown Memphis, Tenn. The show is sponsored by Southern Cotton Ginners Association and Foundation and Delta Farm Press, and regularly attracts approximately 20,000 domestic and international decision-makers.

“The South’s premier show offers attendees the opportunity to see what’s new in the industry and hear from respected leaders,” says Tim Price, show manager.

“We are expecting a bumper crop of new products and services at the 2019 show. Farmers and others interested in the latest technology are encouraged to attend to see what’s available to help them produce and market their crops.”

Ag Update seminars are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Industry experts, including Joe Nicosia with Louis Dreyfus, will headline the Friday, March 1, seminar. Richard Brock, Brock Associates, will provide a grain marketing outlook and recommendations at the Ag Update session Saturday, March 2. Both sessions begin at 8:30 a.m.

“These sessions go beyond the basic market outlook to provide marketing strategies and technology to help farmers develop the skills they need to meet new and emerging challenges,” Price says. “We continue to see market volatility; these experts will provide an outlook and direction for the future.”

The Mid-South Farm and Gin Show has been a mainstay in Memphis for more than 65 years, he says. “It’s a testament to the strength of the industry and the resiliency of farmers throughout the area. Each year thousands of decision-makers from all across the U.S. attend the show. In times of uncertainty and anxiety, the show provides a comforting event, a place for attendees to connect with others they may see only in this one place. It’s an annual tradition for many, many families.”

The 2019 show will feature many small and mid-sized companies with a long history of exhibiting at the show, Price notes. “Some of our exhibitors have been a part of the show for decades — some have exhibited since the show first launched in 1952. We also have companies that are just getting started, displaying their products and services. We’re fortunate to have the space to showcase modern, progressive agriculture.

“Those attending the show, on average grow cotton, soybeans, corn, wheat, rice, and raise livestock. We know, year-in and year-out, that over two-thirds of those attending the show make purchasing decisions within six months.”
