Visit the Pivot Bio exhibit at this year’s Farm Progress Show, and you could end up a winner.

Attendees will receive a card after they walk through the gates to the show on Aug. 27-29 at the Central Iowa Expo site. They need to take the card to the Pivot Bio location on the showgrounds to see if they have won a prize.

Pivot Bio is at Lot 1134 on Central Avenue, between 11th and 12th streets. Attendees must be at least 18 years old to enter the raffle.

Pivot Bio is holding the raffle to recognize and thank farmers for their support of its purpose-built microbes that optimize crop production through specifically placed and timed nitrogen delivery to the crop.

While entering the raffle, showgoers can also visit the exhibit and learn what Pivot Bio products can do for them.

Adding benefits and value

Founded in 2011, Pivot Bio is dedicated to supporting farmers with products that optimize crop production through specifically timed and placed nitrogen delivery, company officials say.

Pivot Bio products are biological, not chemical. They contain efficiency-enhancing, purpose-built microbes that optimize crop production by fixing nitrogen from the air and providing it directly on the corn root for the right amount of nitrogen all season long, company officials explain.

Complementing traditional nitrogen fertilizer with Pivot Bio microbes allows farmers to replace a portion of their traditional nitrogen, ultimately improving efficiency, protecting yield potential and providing significant return on investment for the farmer and the environment, company officials say.

In 2019, Pivot Bio introduced Proven 40 to the market. This product can be applied in-furrow with the planter. Another version, Proven 40 OS, can be applied on seed. With the seed-applied product, more growers can easily access and use it, say company officials.

By applying nitrogen-producing microbes on the seed, Proven 40 OS is readily available for any farmer who wants to use it. There’s no special equipment required, and growers have more control over their nitrogen application timing.

Predictable and reliable

Pivot Bio Proven 40 OS is the only on-seed applied nitrogen on the market, company officials say. It enhances the crop’s potential all season long by providing an efficient and dependable source of N with no loss to leaching, denitrification or volatilization.

Unlike traditional nitrogen, Pivot Bio’s microbes give growers confidence that this source of N reaches the crop, company officials say, Eliminating the need for extra equipment and field passes, the on-seed product saves time and money.

The company’s Proven products are for corn. Pivot Bio also has a product named Return for sorghum and wheat. The on-seed version is Return OS. The products are made in the U.S., providing more stability against global supply chain disruptions and volatile markets.
