CLAAS. (The name rhymes with “Boss”.) And thanks to the company’s new long-line product offering introduced at the rather damp Farm Progress Show, you could be working like a boss! Rain may have slowed things down a bit at this year’s show, but CLAAS was full speed ahead with the various additions to their long line, delivering greater efficiency, reduced fuel costs and greater time savings.

Each year CLAAS brings their “A” game for Farm Progress, unveiling a slew of new machines and technology, and demonstrating the power and innovation behind the global brand.

We’re pleased to introduce new innovations and products across our full line of grain, hay and forage harvesting products,” said Eric Raby, CLAAS of America President and GM – Sales. “Our advanced engineering and strong connection with customers are helping CLAAS deliver thoughtful solutions designed to increase productivity by providing higher throughput and enhanced ease of operation.”

Heading the charge were the CONVIO series of headers for the LEXION combine. The series of draper headers include a rigid CONVIO head for small grains and the CONVIO FLEX head for both small grains and beans. These new headers feature improved visibility from the cab, easier on-the-go adjustments and the broadest flex range in the industry. CLAAS also made modifications to its corn heads which minimize corn ear loss while haresting and reduce operator downtime.

The CEMOS AUTOMATIC technology for the LEXION combine also received an upgrade with the addition of CEMOS AUTO THRESHING. The system, which automatically senses changes in harvesting conditions and adjusts accordingly to maximize throughput and quality, now optimizes threshing cylinder speed and concave position settings instinctively to ensure optimal threshing performance while harvesting.

In the forage harvesting sector, CLAAS introduced a new on-board technology package called SILAGE TECH TM. This system bundles several components for JAGUAR forage harvesters which react to variable harvesting conditions in order to produce the greatest quality forage. These combined componenets are all connected to the operator’s preferred system for GPS mapping and steering. It includes a QUANTIMETER yield sensor to generate yield maps and control inoculant used, automatic chop length to adjust the length of silage based on moisture, and a highly accurate near-infrared moisture sensor.

CLAAS also upped its hay game by introducing two new heavy-duty balers. The user-friendly QUADRANT 5300 square baler is a 3x4 baler with all-new features including Automatic Pressure Control, a longer bale chamber, HD II single knotters and a knotter monitoring system. The ROLLANT 540 is a fixed-chamber round baler that features an updated design, a stronger chassis and 15 newly engineered rollers.

The new DISCO 3600F/FC/FRC MOVE was yet another product to make its debut at Farm Progress. This front mower offers improved linkage, better ground contour following, greater visibility, compatibility with larger tractors and is ideal for professional-grade mowing operations.

As always, CLAAS upped the ante at the 2018 Farm Progress Show with innovative products and technology. They continue to lead the way with advanced engineering practices and groundbreaking farming concepts that have made them an international market leader.
