Farm Press to publish Sunbelt Expo guide

The Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition, known as North America's Premier Farm Show, has announced that starting in 2006, the official show guide will be published by Farm Press Publications.

“We've had a great working relationship with Farm Press for many years, and we're looking forward to the opportunity to expand on that relationship. They do a great job of providing folks in the agriculture industry with timely, educational information on American agriculture,” says Chip Blalock, executive director of Sunbelt.

“We know this partnership will be a win-win not only for Farm Press and us but also for our exhibitors and visitors alike. The show guide is a key element in promoting our event and we are excited that Farm Press will publish our official show guide in 2006 and beyond,” says Blalock.

Farm Press is recognized as the most reliable information source of production agriculture throughout the Sunbelt and is comprised of Southeast Farm Press, Delta Farm Press, Southwest Farm Press and Western Farm Press.

“Our mission is to provide timely, reliable, in-depth information on production agriculture that is useful to farmers in making important business decisions,” says Greg Frey, publisher of Farm Press. “The Expo's focus on production agriculture greatly complements that of Farm Press Publications. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial association.”

The Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition is the world's largest farm show with on-site row crops and field demonstrations. During the three-day show, held each year in October, the latest technology from the agricultural industry is on display at the Expo site near Moultrie, Ga.

The Expo annually showcases farming practices for visitors from throughout the Southeast, the United States, and other parts of the world.

“Our exhibitors represent the best that industry has to offer,” says Blalock. “Whether you are looking for agricultural equipment, services or information, you will find it at the Expo. If you're a farmer and you don't find what you want at Expo, then you probably don't need it.”

More than 1,100 exhibitors participated in the Expo this past year, and many have come back year after year since the first Expo in 1978.

The Expo's 600-acre working farm hosts a wide array of new machinery in the popular harvesting and tillage demonstrations. The Expo's major crops — cotton, peanuts and hay — are in peak condition for show-time harvesting.
