President Joe Biden has signed executive orders that aim to conserve 30% of the country's lands and waters in the next 10 years, double the nation's offshore wind energy and move to an all-electric federal vehicle fleet, the Associated Press reported.
Biden says his climate team plans to deal with the issue of climate change with a "greater sense of urgency" as the nation has already "waited too long to deal with this climate crisis." He said he signed the executive order to "supercharge our administration's ambitious plan to confront the existential threat of climate change."
Growth Energy says ethanol is well-positioned to lower the nation's carbon footprint. A study done last year found that transitioning to higher ethanol blends (from E10 to E15) would lower greenhouse gas emissions by 17.62 million tons per year.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has announced his intentions to sue the federal government over the environmental legislation, The Hill reported. Abbott claims to have sued the Obama administration 31 times where he was the Texas attorney general.
