School for beginning field crop scouts offered

ISU training starts March 30; preregister before March 26.

Iowa State University Extension is hosting a field crop scouting school March 30 at the Field Extension Education Lab at Boone. The daylong program is designed for beginning crop scouts to ensure they are ready for success when they get out in the field.

“The main goal of crop scouting is to identify problems in the field so they can be treated before causing major yield loss,” says Warren Pierson, Iowa State University Extension program specialist. “To do this well, crop scouts need to know how to look, where to look and what to look for. We’ll cover all of this and more in our field crop scout school.”
