Plan to attend 2017 Iowa Women in Ag Conference

First Iowa Women in Agriculture Conference will be March 25 in Washington County.

REGISTER NOW: The Iowa Women in Ag Conference will focus on how to build a solid foundation to make a farm business stronger. Register by March 17.

The date has been set for the first Iowa Women in Agriculture Conference to be held at the Washington County fairgrounds in southeast Iowa on March 25. It is hosted by Washington County Extension and Outreach, along with the Washington Women in Agriculture Advisory Board.

Keynote speaker Jolene Brown promises to leave attendees with ideas and inspirations taken from her real-life stories. From West Branch, Brown is a farmer, author and professional speaker. She says she is on a mission to share leading-edge best practices, appreciation, laughter and celebration to increase productivity, profitability and peace of mind.

The conference is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brown will kick things off with her “Huff and Puff” presentation, which focuses on how building a solid foundation can make your ag business stronger.

Wendy Wintersteen, dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University, will be joining conference attendees for lunch to share her personal experiences of being a woman in agriculture. During the afternoon session, “Balancing Acts,” Brown will share 10 ideas to relieve stress and bring renewal.

Registration deadline March 17
Registration to attend the conference is $25, or $15 for students. Register by calling the Washington County Extension office at 319-653-4811 or online. The registration deadline is March 17. Late registrations are $35 and will be accepted based on availability.
