There’s not much farmland being sold at auction right now, so it was surprising to find these three. One farm sold for a pretty good price. The auctioneer said it was “excellent” farm ground.
Grant County, SD, land sells for $6,200 per acre
One hundred forty acres of cropland in Grant County, S.D., sold for $6,200 per acre at an auction Aug. 8. “This is an excellent piece of Grant County farmland with a Surety Soil Map weighted average of 84.2,” the sale bill said. ND CRP land sells
Seventy-five acres of land in Grand Forks County, N.D., recently sold for $1,233 per acre in a private sale. At an auction Aug. 8, 240 acres of pasture and cropland and a highly improved building site sold for $3,500 per acre in Tripp County, S.D. The land included pasture, about 30 acres of cropland in alfalfa and grass, and a 2,100-square-foot home built in 1993. The home included an indoor swimming pool. “Beautiful views.
