Fertilizing technique conference Nov. 17-18

The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Fertilizer Research and Education Program (FREP) and the Western Plant Health Association (WPHA) have teamed up to present a two-day conference on fertilizing techniques at the Visalia Conference Center in Visalia, Calif. The conference is geared toward a wide range of agriculturalists, including agricultural supply and service consultants, growers, university Extension specialists, crop advisers, and local, state and national governmental agency personnel.

Presenters from academia, industry and agricultural consulting will address pioneering research, practical implementation and regulations through the following major themes:

• Nitrogen management

• Water management

• Tools in plant nutrient management

•Agricultural laboratories

Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) and Pest Control Adviser (PCA) continuing education units (CEUs) will be available at the conference: 6.0 CCA and 1.5 PCA CEUs on Nov. 17; 4.5 CCA and 1.0 PCA CEUs on Nov. 18.

Early conference registration, postmarked by Oct. 26, is $75 per day or $135 for both days; student’s fee is $10 per day for currently enrolled students. After Oct. 26, registration fees are $95 per day or $170 for both days; student’s fee is $20 per day.
